Our wedding was held on June 12, 2009 in Williamsburg, VA. Anyone from Williamsburg can tell you that summers there are hot and humid, and our wedding day was no exception. We were sweating and uncomfortable in our wedding attire, but neither of us were thinking about that when Dennis was taking our photograph. He made us feel relaxed, happy, and actually enjoy having our picture taken. In fact, it went so fast, we managed to get to our reception before the pre-dinner snacks were gone!
From the outset, we knew Dennis would the perfect photographer for us. We loved his photojournalistic style, sense of humor, and experience. At the rehearsal, Dennis was walking around with a notepad and a pen taking notes, making sketches of the layout, and asking pertinent questions.
All of our family and friends agree with us: Dennis took the best photographs we could have hoped for. I highly recommend him for your event.
Thanks for everything Dennis. You're a great photographer and a wonderful friend.

After Dennis Tennant photographed our Jan. 31, 2009, wedding in Portsmouth, Virginia, my wife and I dubbed him “The Invisible Man “ because his camera seemed to capture everything, but he was so unobtrusive that he might as well have been invisible. The photos themselves were a joy to behold; his discerning eye and choice of lens made the walls of our small but beautiful church look like something out of a movie set. He was there for all the big moments: the bride walking down the aisle, our first kiss as husband and wife, our wedding vows, the posed shots and our first dance—but he did not neglect the small, candid moments either. When we held hands under the table at our reception or whispered in each other’s ear shortly after the ceremony, we were in our world—a world that Dennis’ trained eye captured lovingly and discreetly.
Dennis’ professionalism continued even after the last frames were shot at the reception. He got our photos to us in record time and, when our videographer asked for some additional stills for the wedding video, Dennis was more than happy to shoot them at no extra cost. We will forever be grateful to him for making our special day even more so—and making us look great to boot. Thanks, Dennis

I had worked with Dennis at the Daily Press and was very impressed with his work as a photo editor. When I asked him to recommend a photographer, I was thrilled when he volunteered himself. He selected a beautiful area, lit it perfectly, and coached me on relaxing enough to have my personality come through in my photographs. The photo session was a lot of fun, and I received my proofs later that week. I’m so glad I was lucky enough to have Dennis as my photographer.” -- Catherine Cantieri
